INCORPORATE SCHOOL CHOICE INTO YOUR CURRICULUM
Send out a note to faculty and encourage them to incorporate this concept into their curriculum for the week to gather stories and visuals from students on their learning experience.
For younger students, it could be drawings of themselves learning or the favorite thing they learned this year or a picture of their teacher. Teachers can ask, what is your favorite thing to learn about or your favorite thing about school or why is it important to learn? Have the students sign their names and include their age and school name. For the older students, it can be personal essays on the importance of being able to choose your education setting and how it will impact their life for the better.
Consider taking photos of some of the drawings and share them on social media with the hashtag #143kRising.
At the end of School Choice Week, please mail these drawings to the address below with a note on the class age and teacher's name so we may put them on display in the Capitol in May for National Charter School Week.
